Allen-Bradley 1756-IV16 Digital Input Module

The Allen-Bradley 1756-IV16 serves as a high-performance discrete interface for the ControlLogix platform. This module features 16 sourcing input channels, organized into two isolated groups of eight. Unlike sinking modules, a sourcing input module provides a return path for devices that switch the negative side of the DC power supply. Consequently, this configuration allows for seamless integration with a variety of industrial sensors and switches operating within a 10–30V DC range.

System Integration and Maintenance

This module occupies a single slot in any 1756 ControlLogix chassis and supports “Removal and Insertion Under Power” (RIUP). For field wiring, the module requires a separately ordered Removable Terminal Block (RTB), such as the 1756-TBNH (caged clamp) or the 1756-TBSH (spring clamp).
