Description

The IC670PBI001 Profibus bus interface unit is a Field Control device made by GE Fanuc. It is a highly modular device that is compatible with a wide range of host architecture. This bus interface unit and its I/O modules have an aluminum housing as the enclosure. This interface is made to connect the Profibus I/O bus with the Field Control I/O modules. The IC670PBI001 Profibus bus interface unit also occupies intelligent processing facilities which allow the users to configure some advanced features such as the analog scaling, analog range selection, selectable I/O, and fault reporting. The diagnostic checks of the I/O modules and the bus interface unit can be performed and then the diagnostic report can be sent to the host device or the handheld programmer.      

The IC670PBI001 Profibus bus interface unit can be located in junction boxes or inside the panels or behind the operator interface. Before installation, make sure that the air in the installation environment is clean and free of contaminants. The interface must be installed in such a way that the device receives proper cooling. A separate bus interface terminal block must be used for the power wiring as well as for single or dual communication cables. The IC670PBI001 Profibus bus interface unit requires a 24 Volts DC rated external source as the power supply. The front face of the module has 3 indicator LEDs that are the “PWR,” “OK,” and “RUN” LEDs. It provides an HHP connector on its front face for flexible and efficient communication. The dimensions (LxW) of the interface are 5 x 3.25 inches and it has a replaceable slow-blow fuse on the input power line which is rated at 1 Amp. It comes with a small rugged design for use in industrial field control stations.
