Description

The Allen-Bradley 2711-NC13 RS-232 Panelview Standard operator interface terminal communication cable is a serial communication cable for the Allen-Bradley PanelView Standard Human Machine Interface (HMI) terminals. The 2711-NC17 communication cable is compatible with the PanelView Standard and PanelView Enhanced operator terminals from Series F or later. The PanelView Standard operator interface terminals offer high-performance electronic interface solutions that meet all the operator’s needs. This series of intelligent HMIs feature advanced graphics capabilities and performance functionalities in grayscale, monochrome, and color graphics, and they are built with a space-saving blueprint for low cost and maximum performance. The PanelView Standard terminal features include advanced alarm handling, flexible communication options, universal language support, ATP memory card support, screen lock security, and seamless application configuration via the PanelBuilder 32 configuration software.

The 2711-NC13 RS-232 communication cable is supplied as a cable assembly consisting of a 3-meter 9-pin D-shell to 9-pin D-shell RS-232 serial cable that provides a communication link for remote RS-232 serial port access, and some installation packages. The 2711-NC13 RS-232 serial cable connects directly to Serial Port 0 on the SLC 5/03, 5/04, or 5/05 controllers, or indirectly to the MicroLogix controller via the 1761-NET-AIC AIC+ module. All PanelView Standard terminals come with an onboard RS-232 printer port for connecting to printers and for uploading and downloading application files by using the PanelBuilder32 software. The 2711-NC13 communication cable provides point-to-point connection to a MicroLogix controller and the Channel 0 port of an SLC controller via the Allen-Bradley DH-485 protocol. With the DH-485 communication protocol, application files are uploaded or downloaded by using the PanelBuilder32 software.
