Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L55M14 is a ControlLogix 5555 controller. This Series A controller has an available data and logic memory of 3.5 Mbytes and an I/O memory of 208 kbytes. It should be noted that the 1756-L55M14 controller does not have a nonvolatile memory. It is part of the ControlLogix system and is used together with the RSLogix 5000 software.

The controller is placed inside a ControlLogix 1756 chassis and has an open style enclosure. By itself, the controller weighs 0.36 kg or 12.8 oz. Its battery can be replaced with a 1756-BA1 lithium battery. You should remember to replace the controller's battery only when it is necessary. The only serial cables compatible with the 1756-L55M14 controller are either the 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3 cables.

This controller has the capability to support various communication modes, such as SynchLink, DH-485, Modbus via ladder routine, Universal Remote I/O serial, Data Highway Plus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and EtherNet/IP. It can also be used in a redundant system as long as you pair it with the same controller and is found within the same ControlNet network.

Backplane currents of 1.25 A at 5.1V DC and 0.14 A at 24V DC are present in the 1756-L55M14 controller. It has a power dissipation of 5.7 W and a thermal dissipation of 19.4 BTU/hr. The controller has been tested to withstand up to 707V DC for 60 s and has a continuous isolation voltage of 30V and is a basic insulation type. It has a conducted RF immunity of 10V rms with 1 kHz sine-wave 80% AM from 150 kHz to 80 MHz.

Operating temperature of the 1756-L55M14 controller ranges from 0 to 60 Degrees Celsius. It also has a storage temperature of -40 to 85 Degrees Celsius. It has a noncondensing relative humidity that ranges from 5% to 95%. The controller also has an operating shock of 30 g and a non-operating shock of 50 g. Its vibration is 2 g at 10 to 500 Hz.
