ABB general purpose drive, ACS480 The ABB general purpose drive, ACS480, is available up to 22 kW. It compliments the ACS580 by having the same software internally and basic I/O structure. The ACS480 has a different form factor for use in applications where cabinet installation or limited space might be a consideration. The drive can be ordered with either the I/O or a fieldbus option modules fitted, making the commercial package more attractive. Drive Customizer Drive Customizer is a PC tool that allows a drive to be totally customised to an OEM’s needs. OEMs can develop versions of the ABB firmware that matches their application exactly. Tool allows changes to access levels (create own passwords for different users), changes to parameter or menu visibilities. It is possible to edit and alter any text within the drive from parameter names, menu names, fault and warning messages etc. Company logos can be added to the keypad. Custom specific macros can be generated for parameter edits, or custom start-up scripts to allow guided commissioning. The new firmware can be loaded into the drive without having to power it up, using a special “cold configuration” tool. ABB general purpose drives – extended cabinet offering Cabinet drives for the ABB general purpose, ACS580, now ranges from 75 kW to 500 kW. The complete range is built into two cabinet size variants: 75 kW to 250 kW and 250 kW to 500 kW. The smaller powers feature a new “dirty air” configured cooling path, removing the need for input filters for the IP55 variant, thereby reducing cost and the need to maintain the filters. As with the larger power cabinets, the user can select from a range of optional extras
